Our Mission
Chochocho is a student-led animal welfare and community impact initiative rooted in a deeply personal beginning.
The name Chochocho comes from Chocho, my first dog—an eleven-year-old brown poodle with touches of white. Growing up with Chocho taught me what it truly means to care for another life: patience, responsibility, and unconditional companionship. Those early years shaped my values and my understanding of what animals depend on from us as humans.
As I grew older, our family welcomed Nugget, a five-year-old white Golden Retriever. Living with both Chocho and Nugget—two dogs of different ages, sizes, and personalities—deepened my awareness that every dog has unique needs, sensitivities, and vulnerabilities. This everyday experience helped me see animals not as a single category, but as individuals who require thoughtful and attentive care.
Chochocho was created to transform these personal experiences into a broader commitment. Through this initiative, I aim to support shelter dogs by addressing their real, practical needs, promoting compassionate and responsible animal care, and building sustained community engagement around animal welfare.
At its core, Chochocho is about extending care beyond one home and toward many—turning love for my own dogs into responsibility for dogs who are still waiting for one.
From Chocho to Chochocho — caring for one dog, advocating for many.
